Why Am I Not Getting The Results I Want?

Why Am I Not Getting The Results I Want?

Almost every gym-goers out there is a victim to this mistake...

They always thought that by exercising daily is productive with their muscle-building program. What do we do in the gym? Off course, exercise, we are tearing apart muscle fiber or tissues.

What happens when we break down muscle tissue in the gym?

If you answered something to the effect of "the muscles get bigger and stronger", then congratulations! You are absolutely correct.

By battling against resistance beyond the muscle’s present capacity we have posed a threat to the musculature. The body recognizes this as potentially harmful and as a natural adaptive response the muscles will hypertrophy (increase in size) to protect the body against this threat. As we consistently increase the workload from week to week the muscles will continue to adapt and grow.

Sound simple?

Whenever you perform a set in the gym, you are "digging a hole" into your body’s recovery ability. For every single set you perform, this hole becomes deeper and deeper.

Once you leave the gym, the body must then go to work to re-fill the hole. This means re-building and re-modelling the muscles back to the state that they were in prior to the workout.

Once this has been accomplished, the real magic can then take place...

The consistent buildup of muscle mass and strength is nothing more than a simple process of digging holes into recovery, and then letting the body recover and compensate.

The key thing to realize here is that the body can ONLY "fill the hole" and "build the hill on top" if it is provided with proper rest and recovery time. If you continually interrupt this process, no new muscle will be built.
